Biografia

Esperienza ventennale nel campo della Genetica e Genomica di Popolazione e della Genetica e Genomica della Conservazione, con particolare focus sui progetti di a) monitoraggio molecolare della presenza, distribuzione, gestione e conservazione di piccoli, medi e grandi carnivori (gatto selvatico, sciacallo dorato e lupo) e b) sullo studio della ibridazione antropogenica tra specie, sottospecie e popolazioni animali selvatiche e loro controparti domestiche.

Le sue principali attività professionali riguardano l’utilizzo di tecniche biomolecolari per lo studio dello status conservazionistico e delle problematiche gestionali di specie, sottospecie e popolazioni animali a rischio di estinzione o minacciate dalle attività antropiche, dalla frammentazione degli habitat naturali, e dai recenti cambiamenti climatici.
